How does the program unfold?

Module 1 of the program is Setting The Stage, and once you enroll it will be available to you on December 16, 2024.

  • Kathy and Debby will provide you with an overview of where you’ll be going and some preliminary exercises for you to complete over the holidays.
  • Don’t worry--the exercises are not time-consuming, and most people find this reflection enjoyable! You’ll be creating a rich source document that you can rely on when you move on to crafting your story in January.

Module 2 of the program is Telling Your Story, and it will become available to you on January 6, 2025.

  • Kathy and Debby will provide you with a story template that you can complete to craft your own unique story…the same template that has won rave reviews from their individual coaching clients, the decisionmakers they deal with, and executive search firms.
  • You’ll gather information from your source document, with access to a variety of support materials. These include example stories crafted by other leaders and a lexicon of engaging words and phrases from which to select what makes you distinctive.

Module 3 of the program is Using Your Story, and it will become available to you on January 27, 2025.

  • Kathy and Debby will provide tips as to how to use/adapt your story in different contexts (resumes, LinkedIn, short form bios, verbally).
  • You’ll also learn how to update your story as your career unfolds.

FAQ

Kathy Dockry is a leadership coach who supports CEO succession, C-suite executives, and fast-rising high potentials. She has a particular interest in the skills of influence, persuasion, and presence and hosts the Mastering The Power Skills podcast where she and guests provide tips and strategies on these topics to listeners. During her coaching career, Kathy was also a member of the Spencer Stuart leadership advisory group where she advised management teams and boards on leadership and succession. Prior to her coaching career, Kathy was a corporate executive who served in CEO, CAO, CHRO and General Counsel positions. Before her corporate career, Kathy was a trial attorney.
Debby Stone is a leadership coach, author and keynote speaker who supports seasoned leaders in corporations, nonprofit organizations and professional services firms who want to further their leadership impact and legacy. She has a particular interest in the skills of self-promotion, brand-building and executive presence and is the author of The Art of Self-Promotion: Tell Your Story, Transform Your Career. Prior to her coaching career, Debby was a management consultant and also a corporate attorney.

Generally, this program is a good fit for anyone who is 5+ years into their career and/or has the title of manager, director, vice president, and even at the senior vice president level. Yes, it is! The approach in this program was originally used with our senior management coaching clients, and they were thrilled with the results. However, careers get more complex at that stage. You may also benefit from additional guidance and support, like one-on-one coaching or future courses we’ll be offering.

After you create the first draft of your career story according to the process in the program, you can send it to us for our review, suggestions, and comments. You also get one-hour of live coaching to workshop your story with either Kathy or Debby. This session can be booked as either two 30-minute sessions or one 60-minute session.

All live sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the program platform so that you can listen to a session you missed, rewatch a session and proceed at the pace that’s right for you. You’ll have access to the entire program (course modules, Q & A sessions, all supporting documents, and the private LinkedIn group) for a total of six months.
